Help needed!! Gas Club Car New here!!

Hey everyone, I am new here and to golf carts...I just acquired what i believe is an 07 XRT800 Club car ( Vin starts with XH07...... It is in pretty rough shape.. Guy I got it from said it was running 2 years ago, but thats all i know. I hooked up a battery to it and turn the ignition but get nothing....There is no power to anything. If I put my ear down by the solenoid while turning the igntition and hear nothing. I am not sure where to start.. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Once I get the starter going and power to the igntition I am confident I can get the motor running. Nothing on the dash works when i turn on the ignition, no headlights, no fuel meter or hour meter....

I disconnected and cleaned the posts of the solenoid still nothing...

Can you jumper across the solenoid and operate the starter?
