  • Removing rev limiter in club car golf cart

How do I remove the rev limiter on my club car? What are the cons of this?

  • #2
Simply unhook it. There are many cons to this. Your engine is currently getting cut off by the rev limiter at around 3800 RPM's. When you disconnect it, you could be going above 4000 RPM's which is a very high number for a stock club car engine. You will be in great danger of over-reving and creating very expensive damage like seizing the motor.

        Where is it?

We just purchased a 2003 and have no idea where the governor is. Can you just adjust it for a little more power without removing it?

It will take me a couple of weeks to get a replacement limiter switch. If I disconnet it and drive carefully...i.e slowly.... will I risk damage?
