  • 2004 DS 36 V diagram?

I can not find one for a 04 36 volt. Anyone know where to find it? Took the cart a part to rebuild a few weeks ago and have a few wires I'm not 100% sure about.

Club Car did not offer a 36 volt DS in 2004. They made a shift from their 36v DS models around 1997-1998, transitioning to the PowerDrive Plus system, which incorporated a 48 volt DC series wound motor. From there, they later introduced the Club Car DS IQ System, featuring a 48 volt DC shunt wound motor. In a series wound motor, the field winding and armature winding are connected in series. This design allows for high starting torque, making it ideal where heavy loads need to be moved from a standstill. On the other hand, a shunt wound motor has its field winding and armature winding connected in parallel. This design provides better speed regulation and control, making it suitable where precise speed control is needed.

As for your 2004 Club Car DS, it's likely equipped with a 48 volt system and currently running 36 volt batteries. Count the water caps on each battery, if you have 3 caps its a 6v battery, 4 caps would be 8v. Next, check the tag on the motor, which should indicate the voltage rating. If it specifies 48 volts, you're looking at a 48 volt motor, even if the cart currently has a 36 volt battery setup. Here are the diagrams for the PowerDrive Plus and IQ System Club Car DS.
