  • MCORs Any difference?

    Ref MCOR 4 2012/up.
I see Buggies Unlimited wants $161 plus shipping. Some guy bragging about OEM is $99 P/S
Then I look at Amazon, $29-$37 free shipping (Prime)
I bought the $29 one. It is just a pot in a plastic box.

I’ve seen this play out countless times where someone buys a budget part thinking they’re saving money only to face headaches with glitchy performance or worse, total failure before long. In my experience, an oem part is a more reliable investment that saves you the frustration of recurring issues. It’s not just about the price tag, it’s about the long term hassle and reliability.

Think about it! You’ve just installed that cheap part and at first everything seems fine. But soon enough, you're far away from home and the throttle starts acting erratically, slow response, jerky acceleration or maybe even no response at all. The issue could be the cheap potentiometer inside that doesn’t give consistent readings, or the plastic housing loosing seal or cracking and letting in moisture ruining the whole setup. At first, you might think it’s just a small glitch, but then it happens again and again, each time a little worse. You start to wonder if this thing is really worth it?

OK I will play along. If this thing craps out I will compare it to the OEM on my bench that is probably OK anyway but I cut it apart, This is just a cam actuated switch and a 6 ohm potentiometer formed on a card with a wiper on the pedal shaft.
If the new one fails, let's see what is different.image.png
