  • End of a long story

OK so I killed my precedent by running it up the floor boards in Helena flood water.
    In the flood thread
    Bad controller.
Salt water takes out the 5v ps to the MCOR

I have a new after market controller
    It basically runs.
Seems a little jerky when you start and not as fast as it was. I really only moved from the driveway to the shed tho.
Anything wrong with just running it like I stole it?
Maybe see if my neighbor can program it.

Flood recovery isn’t easy but looks like you’re handling it well so far. Definitely check into replacing the MCOR if you haven't already. It’s the main common cause for jerky throttle especially after any water exposure since it’s sealed and can’t be cleaned out once it’s compromised. A replacement could make a world of difference for that smooth pedal you’re after. You’re good to drive it as is for testing, just keep a DVM handy and have a backup plan in case you need a tow home and let me know if anything else comes up!

Just keep an eye on heat buildup especially since saltwater can leave residue that stresses electronics over time. Running it gradually could help you spot any potential issues before they become bigger. Having a neighbor help dial in the settings sounds like a good plan, if all is well and the new controller is programmable you might have some flexibility to adjust throttle response and smooth out that initial jerkiness.
      Regards
