Club Cart Jerking on Acceleration

this just started happening. Cart begins to shutter or jerk when in forward setting. Cart doesn't go very fast either. Any input is appreciated. I am a new golf cart owner.
1997 Club Cart with 6 batteries.

This is likely related to the throttle input, is your cart 36v or 48v? And if 48v, with the key OFF press the accelerator pedal from zero to full about 30 times to “clean” the wiper contacts and see if you notice any slight improvement after.
