I purchased a 1990 Club car and it came with a charger. What kind of batteries do I need and how many?

Basically six deep cycle lead acid 6 volt batteries. You can find them at Costco or sams club or the best are Trojans. Be sure to keep the terminals clean and fully charged in the off season!

$700 for batteries is indeed a significant investment, but it's actually a decent deal. Liquid lead acid golf cart batteries are typically the most budget-friendly option when compared to alternatives like lithium ion or gel lead acid batteries. With lead acid batteries, you can use a regular charger, which saves you from investing in specialized charging equipment.
Batteries are the critical component of a carts functionality. Without the right batteries, the cart simply won't perform as expected. Think of batteries in an electric golf cart like you would an engine in a gas powered vehicle. Just as an engine provides the power needed to move a car forward, batteries store and supply the electrical energy required to drive the cart's motor propelling it forward. Without a reliable engine, a gas powered vehicle would struggle to move, just as an electric golf cart would be rendered immobile without dependable batteries. It's like attempting to drive a car with a lawn mower engine fitted under the hood. It just won't cut it! Batteries aren't just a small part of the system.. they're the lifeblood, the energy source that keeps your cart moving.Updated by Michael Eddie; May 5, 2024, 04:57 PM.
