Where do I start? I got a 2006 CC precedent IQ 48 volt from a neighbor. No batteries, but looks like it is setup for 4, 12 volt batteries. What batteries do y'all suggest? Also should I just plug them up and see what I get or are there some tests I can do to see if I have any shorts or opens in the wiring? I would hate to buy new batteries and ruin one by just plugging it in.

    Thanks in advance.

When it comes to replacing batteries, ensuring compatibility is key. For your 2006 Club Car Precedent IQ 48-volt setup, the original configuration typically uses six 8volt batteries. However, if it's already set up for four 12volt batteries, you might consider using four 12volt deep cycle batteries instead.

Before diving into battery replacement, it's a great idea to run some tests on the wiring. A multimeter can help you check for any shorts or open circuits. Start by inspecting the wiring for visible damage or loose connections. Then, using the multimeter's continuity function, check each wire for proper connectivity.

Regarding the batteries, a load test can help assess their condition if you have access to a load tester. If not, you can have an auto parts store or a technician test the batteries for you. This will give you a clearer picture before investing in replacements.
