  • DS going in Regen while driving

I have a 2005 DS Q that goes into regen while driving. The voltage goes up to a little over 50V when this happens. While driving, the cart will die and come to a rapid stop and the alarm buzzer will sound. I have already eliminated the solenoid, controller, tow/run switch, motor controller module, batteries, motor and most of the wiring. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Regen systems convert the motor into a generator during braking to recharge the batteries, and if it engages unexpectedly while driving, it can cause the symptoms you described.

Consider checking the regen braking circuitry, sensors, or any related components. There might be a fault in the regen system that's causing it to engage improperly while you're driving, leading to the abrupt stop and voltage surge. Also, verify the functionality of the brake sensors or switches that might trigger regeneration during normal driving.
