CAN'T GET CHARGER TO CHARGE BATTERIES, VERY GOOD CHARGER, NEW BATTERIES 48V SYSTEM 2-12'S, PLUG UP AND NOTHING HAPPENS

Since you’ve got new batteries and a good charger, the next step is to do some basic testing with a digital voltmeter (DVM) to help pinpoint the problem if you're up for the challenge.

First, you’ll want to set your DVM to DC voltage. You can do this by turning the dial on the meter to the "V" with a solid line and a dashed line under it, which represents DC voltage. Make sure it's set to a range high enough to measure 12V or more (some meters have an auto range function, but if not, you’ll want it set above 12V).

Now, we’re going to check the voltage of each battery individually. Place the positive lead of your DVM on the positive terminal of the battery, and the negative lead on the negative terminal. Each 12V battery should give you a reading of at least 12V. If any of the batteries show less than that, it could be causing your charger not to activate. Keep in mind that a fully charged 12V battery should ideally read around 12.7-12.8V. Next run pack voltage across the main pack positive and negative and post the results.

If all your batteries show proper voltage, the issue might not be with the batteries themselves, and we’ll need to start looking at the system components that control charging. This is where your Onboard Computer (OBC) comes in. The OBC in a Club Car acts as the "brain" of the charging system. It monitors the state of charge and controls the charger’s operation. If the OBC isn’t detecting the batteries properly it might not allow the charger to turn on.

To troubleshoot further, use the attached chart to identify exactly which charging system and OBC setup you have. This will help us figure out the next steps in troubleshooting such as whether the OBC might need resetting or bypassing to allow the charger to engage. Let me know what your battery readings show, and we can move forward from there!
