Which wire of the key switch should a break the wire to attach a secondary power switch? For security I want to mount a toggle or even another key switch, too many folks have the CC key where I store my cart. I was also wonder if you can re key the switch, I have a locksmith friend? Thanks.

A practical approach is to route one side of the key switch through a concealed toggle or latching push-button switch. If someone attempts to start the cart using a common key without knowing about the hidden switch, it will not work. Similarly, if someone finds the hidden switch but does not turn the key, the cart remains inoperative. While this setup might not deter a determined thief, it will certainly prevent joyriders and opportunistic thieves from easily taking off with your cart.
To implement this security measure, choose a discreet location for the hidden switch that allows easy access without drawing attention. Labeling the switch as something mundane, like "Radio" or "Lights," can effectively disguise its true purpose, keeping it hidden in plain sight. Remember to deactivate this switch whenever you turn off and remove the key.
For even greater security, you want to make it even more sophisticated, consider using a relay. The relay can be controlled by your hidden switch, and it will handle the high current needed for the ignition system. This way, your hidden switch only needs to manage a small control current, extending its lifespan and reliability.
When rewiring the key switch understand the wiring diagram of your Club Car. Typically, the key switch has a common terminal that distributes power when the key is turned. You will need to interrupt this circuit by adding your hidden switch in series. Place the hidden switch in an area where you can access it without making it obvious to onlookers. For example, beneath the dashboard or within a storage compartment labeled inconspicuously. Additionally, using a heavy-duty switch rated for the appropriate amperage will help with reliability and prevent electrical issues.
