wide open throttle

hello all,
1997 elect. club car. throttle is wide open. thought it was pot. it checked out at 0-5k which i think is correct. i can even unplug the triangular shaped plug with 3 conductors in it that comes from the pot, and as soon as the microswith closes it is wide open. all wiring appears to be correct according to diagram. any ideas? could it be the motor speed controller?

What cart do you have exactly regen?

Not sure. It does NOT have the rocker switch for forward/reverse. It has a lever for the forward/reverse switch. Also it does NOT have the tow/run switch. The accelerator speed control has a microswitch wit a rotary pot with 3 connections. Does this help?

I guess a little, sounds like a series motor with a forward reverse lever

yes, i do think that it is a series, and yes it does have the lever fo forward/reverse
