Is your cart regen, also when you used the cart did you run down the batteries all the way?

Not really sure what regren means.......I did notice that I have 5 (6volt-batteries) & 1 (8volt - battery) which makes it a 38 volt. what is that about? Got the cart on a Friday...charged it that night & ran on it til about Tuesday & tried to charge & got nothing from the charger. Well the cart ran until this pass Sunday until it started acting like it needed a charge & still nothing. Not sure what I should do next.....batteries are new....Thanks for any help!!!

Here is a good article on the club car regen system http://www.golfcart-forums.com/gener...-q-system.html

Anytime there is a mixup in batteries you will not be able to charge it. The next thing I was going to ask you was if you tested all the batteries to see if there was 1 dead. How exactly did you find out that there is only 1 48 volt battery and was the previous owner able to charge it? I hope this info helps

chances are you have a 36 volt cart and someone just dumped an 8 volt battery in it to replace a bad one.............48 volt would have 6 eight volt batteries in it....count the water fill holes...............3 holes =6 volt 4 holes =8 volt now what does the plug end look like that plugs in where you charge it? is it round with 3 pins in the socket ( 48 volt ) or does it have 2 big spade type things ? ( 36 volt ) you say charger won,t come on but works on another cart than you need to take voltage readings from each of your batteries.......you need a certain voltage before charger will come on so check water level in each battery check and clean each cable where it attaches to battery terminal you need them very clean and very tight and if your unsure about cables replace them, get a good voltage meter and take voltage reading from each battery and write #,s down.......i also suggest if it is a 36 volt cart get rid of the 8 volt battery........i have seen them play havoc with the cart a little bit at a time..............post your voltage #,s.........................
          Tom
if i didn,t like them so much i wouldn,t touch them...........
