cleaning batteries..

I got the battery watering kit and want to clean the batteries before installing. Can I just pour some soda solution over the tops to clean them off? They're just a little dirty from dust and dry grass getting tossed up on top. Also, I overfilled once and a couple of them boiled over a bit.

Are you talking like baking soda Or a coke A bucket of water with baking soda in it And a nice broom or brush and scrub it down And then hose it off.

Coke??? won't hosing them down short across all the batteries?

Nope no short, maybe if you have a very high salt solution.
