  • 97 clubcar golf cart

serial #a9728-585491. that is all I know about this cart except it is 48v/ I put new batteries, charger and front plug. It still didn't charge. i changed the obc with another old golf cart and hooking it back up i hooked the neg to a pos term on battery and after i corrected that now the cart wont come on.now after reading some threads I tested the sol. when jumped small term to the neg side of the battery the sol came on and the cart will run. This is the red wire that goes to the contoller. I guess I blew the controller is there a way around this.

I need to know if this is a regen cart or a series cart on the end of the motor is there a plug in the center with three wires coming out red, black, green.

On the motor itself there is only 4 wires topside green red on the side is black and white. I am kind of confused because all the diagrams I look at matches a 95 and not a 97

There should be a yellow wire going from the Solenoid Coil to the OBC, Ground that wire to the battery pack -48 volts and it should work. Does charger work?

Grounded wire and charger came on like it was supposed to. The cart will still not run though the solenoid is not kicking on. I dont have the three wire plug coming out of the motor, just the 4 major wires. so can you help with this problem

Above what you did bypassed the OBC, the OBC grounds the -neg side of the solenoid coil.
if it runs and charges your good to go.

I jumped wire from +48 to other side of solenoid and it kicked on and the cart will go forward and reverse. so it charges but wont run

Thanks this is the controller that I have. I guess the question I have how do I test the pos side of the solenoid. I unhooked both wires (red/controller) (blkwh limitswitch) I hooked battery back and with key on there was no voltage on either wire.

Yep that switch will do it you could just put the two wires together to test.
