  • 1991 Club Car Electric...possessed

Twice this year my carts batteries got very hot while not plugged into the charger. I notice that the cart would move slowly forward with a depressed gas pedal(I know it is electric) even with the ignition switch in the off position. I am guessing a bad solenoid. Any other thoughts?

    Welcome,

I would agree. You may have a partially shorted solenoid.

Does it make the tell tale loud "click" when you step on the gas pedal??

If the solenoid is ok, I would then start checking the v-glide.

Am i correct in assuming that it is a 36v resistor cart??

Thanks for the assist. It was the solenoid. Replaced it last Thursday. I verified it by direct wiring past the solenoid to see if it would run and it did.

      Best regards,

      Dave
