Has anyone ever heard of using "pledge" to clean windshields on golf carts? It's supposed to take away the tiny scratches, etc.

For small abrasions and scratches there is nothing better (or cheaper) than Pledge.
Start with a clean windshield then spray on and wipe/buff with a microfiber towel.
If you have something that requires more than that you can use PlastX available at any auto parts store.
