Can you think of anything I may be overlooking?

1.Check individual battery for correct voltage, recharge separately any battery with low voltage or replace.
          3.Sort out loose cable terminations
2.Replace speed controller if problem persists

Rich on your Vglide about every 375 ohms = 1mph max of 5000 ohms

Rich, for others to see, can you please post up what your exact issue was inside of the motor? Thanks.

The problem was not in the motor. When I checked out the v glide I hooked up a PB 6 using the three wires and it still jerked I thought it was the motor. Changed the motor and it still jerked so I hooked the PB 6 permanently and it did not jerk. I just used the white and yellow wires and not the purple, that made me think that it might be in the purple wire. I checked with OHM and it checked good. I hooked the v glide back up using the purple wire and it jerked.I hooked up the v glide without the purple and it did not jerk, worked great. I think that the purple is low voltage which goes to the B- and it might carry OHM and not steady voltage? Seems like the purple wire does not do much. Cart works great without it. I set the controler on CC 5-0 K and on 5-0 k and it works good either way.

Rich my reply was to a thread on another site! you get 1 mile per hour for every 300 to 375 ohms there about.

Is this the type of V-glide you used?

I just hooked it up to my cart and the purple wire is hooked to B- I think.
                        It runs fine.

Yes. My controller is 23 pin Alltrax and the purple goes to #9 pin which should be B-. I do not have the purple wire hooked up.

It runs fine without the purple wire hooked up? What exactly is this wire for then?

I have not been able to find out. If you use the PB 6 you don't use it.I think that it sends a signal to the controller. May be someone else can tell us what it is for.

Don't have a schematic but this is what I'm thinking, It is set up as a voltage divider +48 on one side of the resistance - on the other and a wiper.

Whel on my setup it's ground for it.

Purple wire goes to B- is ground.

That"s what I said! - ground + voltage and a wiper, this is for an older controller most likely. The new controller most likely has the - ground pulled low inside the controller with a resistor.
one would be call a 3 wire input and the other would be call a 2 wire input
