Well, not necessarily. All I really need is the "fixed face" portion of it (the part that slides onto the crankshaft nub) as long as it's in one piece and isn't damaged. I have a perfectly good clutch but I n00bishly cracked my fixed face trying to remove it the wrong way...before I learned there's a special tool to remove clutches. 
My cart is a 1987 Club Car DS with the KF82 motor. It is however, fitted with the more common '88-'91 clutch.
