  • Is It Safe to remove the governor or rev limiter on my golf cart?

No. It is said that removing the governor on your golf cart can really increase your top speed. Some people swear on it. This is one of the most UNSAFE things you can do to your golf cart if not done correct. The reason is that when you remove the governor there is no limit on how high the engine can rev. You can run your motor straight to breaking point throwing hundreds down the drain on replacement parts and labor.

If you have or been thinking about removing the governor on your golf cart, play it safe. Spend a little money now rather than a lot of money in the future by purchasing and installing a tachometer.
    Regards
