Suddenly cart started smoking badly been running fine stops then suddenly starts again.

If it’s the robin engine (see attached guide) the engine oil is probably a just little overfilled. Drain it and refill with 1.5q. If smoking stops, mark new level in dip stick. Might need slightly less if lifted
