'90 Suspension upgrade/lift?

We just bought a cart the previous owner put knobby tires on and 4 new batteries and it runs GREAT.......BUT, the tires rub the body if 2 of us "large guys" ride together. Is there a new suspension kit someone can suggest?
Are lift kits available?
Is this a DIY job an old gearhead can handle?
