  • 48 volt POWER DRIVE charger

Has anybody come up with a way to make a power drive charger work with out bypassing the relay and not having a OBC to control it.
I want to have it shut off like any other automatic charger.
If you know how please do tell. Parts to buy whatever.
    Thanks Andy

Unfortunately the CC chargers are only a 1/2 charger. All of the normal functions of chargers like amperage and shut off is handled by the OBC.
You can always use a regular charger on a CC by bypassing the OBC but you can't go the other way as the CC charger just charges and does nothing else.

Just use a manual twist hour timer or a timeout and hold electronic timer with a reset button set it for 12 hours should work fine.

I have done 2 of these chargers with this mode and one has lasted for over a year now the other one lasted about 4 months. I think a wire touched inside and shorted it out. The charger still worked it just was not auto.

Yes I have used them but would like something a little better.

Cheap enough! $249.99 for a auto 48 volt chaarger!
48 Volt automatic automotive battery charger with micro-processor controlled 15-25 Amp output and float-mode monitoring. The reverse polarity protection will ensure this until will not apply current to the output connect until it is properly connected.
