Has any one had any success with battery additives. There used to be one called VX6, JC Whitney now sells it under another name. It is supposed to reduce sulfication in storage that destroys the batteries.

Snake oil! Probably will do more harm than good.
Batteries that are charged before storage then recharged every month will never sulfate. Sulfation starts when batteries are at less than 90% of full charge.
Are you having battery problems?

I used thermoil battery oil in my previous 48 volt yamaha G22E.
I would not buy it again, as I could not see any return for the money.
The only benefit was it almost stopped having to clean the battery terminals of corrosion. It was about 8 bucks per bottle which treated one battery.
I have read that if you have sulfated batteries, you can add one tablespoon of
epsom salts per cell, and it will desulfate them. I have not tried this and would not want to attempt it unless the method could be confirmed by someone with personal experience.
