  • Need help with rain on windshield

    Noobie here....
I have two electric carts that reside at the beach. They are only means of transportation on the island as it is a resort community.
My question: is there anything I can apply to the windshield to improve visibility in the rain?
Visibility is impaired in daylight and very significant after dark.
Wipers are out of the question since any sand would destroy the shield.
I understand that Rain-X is not good for plastic.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    james

XPEL makes 2 products that I've found work well. The first is their Finishing Solution. I've not used this on the windshield but it works great on my shower doors. Water just beads off w/o spotting. The stuff I use on my plastic windshield is their Paint Protection Film Sealant. Made specifically for plastic. It's a synthetic Polymer that will also help protect against the salt air. www.xpel.com for a list of dealers nearest to you. Cost is about $20 for 16 oz.

Lemon Pledge works as well as anything for windscreens and doesn't yellow.

        Any good car polish.

Just make sure you use a clean terry cloth towel and let it dry throughly before wiping off.

Does the same thing as Rain-X, but won't hurt the plastic.
