  • How Do I take the governor off an electric Club Car / Ezgo / Yamaha golf cart?

How Do I take the governor off an electric Club Car / Ezgo / Yamaha golf cart?

Impossible. Electric golf carts do not have governors. They are only used on gas golf carts to limit how high the engine revs. On electric golf carts the speed is governed by things like the controller and motor.

A lot of the newer golf carts now come with what is called a regenerative "regen" breaking system which slows the cart down when riding on hills. If this feature is annoying to you I have good news, typically it can be modified. Each golf cart has its own different...

  • How Do I put my PDS EZGO into diagnostics code mode?

How Do I put my PDS EZGO into diagnostics code mode?

If you have a PDS EZGO (forward/reverse switch on the dash) when in the event of a problem you can enter the golf cart into diagnostics mode to help find out what is wrong with your cart.

To enter diagnostics mode turn the key switch to off, move the run/tow switch to run, move the direction switch from neutral to rev 5 times. The cart will beep to confirm you are in diagnostics mode. After that, the diagnostics code beep will sound if there is a problem. When you are finished move...

  • How Often Do I perform a differential oil change?

How Often Do I perform a differential oil change?

Perform an oil change on the rear differential every 5 years.

Always check the amount of oil in the differential case yearly. If you find that that the level has dropped, add more of the correct type of oil specified in your owners manual until it is at the correct level also specified in your owners manual.

How Do I Test An Electric Golf Cart Motor?

There are many types of electric motors, today I will explain how to test the most popular golf cart motors:

    Series Wound Motor:
There are 4 connections on the motor, we'll use the following as an example. A1, A2, F1 and F2. The letters could differ. Put a jumper wire from A1 to F1 so they are connected. Now jump the A2 and F2 connections with a 12 volt battery or battery charger. It does not matter which polarity. If the motor is good it will turn over.

    Shunt Wound...

  • How Do I Dispose Of My Bad Golf Cart Batteries?

How Do I Dispose Of My Bad Golf Cart Batteries?

You can easily get rid of your scrap batteries, weather you have lead acid rechargeables or just a regular lead acid battery off your gas golf cart. Look in the phone book and chances are you will find a battery supplier or battery refurbishing company. These companies will buy your battery as a core and pay you around $13 per core. Prices change over time so it the amount you get will vary.

Stamped into the battery, or on a sticker there will be date codes. Check the date codes to find the production date.
